Trading Application Engineer

Amsterdam – Hybrid

They are a proprietary trading firm founded by an experienced trader, specialising in financial derivatives, particularly options, and using sophisticated quantitative strategies and advanced algorithms to exploit market inefficiencies.

They operate with their own capital, focusing on high-frequency trading and robust risk management, emphasising innovation and adaptability.

Their team of skilled traders, quantitative analysts, and technology experts work together to refine and execute profitable trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting trading operations within an advanced tech environment.
  • Deploying and managing internally developed trading applications.
  • Working with IT teams (Development, Network, DevOps) to establish and execute long-term plans for platform stability.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing application issues, applying immediate fixes, and following up with structural improvements.
  • Identifying and implementing automation opportunities as they arise.
  • Collaborating with various teams to connect to new markets/exchanges and deploying new applications and trading functionalities.

Experience required 

  • Up to 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Linux.
  • Experience working with a Scripting Language (Bash or Python).
  • Solid knowledge of SQL.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment engaging with a variety of different people and teams.
