Head of Data Engineering & Business Intelligence – Private Markets

Up to £130k plus package

OFS is working with a leading alternative asset management firm based in Central London who are looking to hire a Head of Data Engineering & Business Intelligence. Working within the IT department, this individual will own the reporting and analysis platform to design and deliver enterprise operational reporting, management information and analytics solutions.

This role sits within a small team tasked with producing high-quality, innovative solutions to enhance core business systems and create significant intellectual property. The position holder will also be instrumental in helping establish a leading data and analytics strategy and associated governance processes, and steer functional teams in the direction of reporting self-service and data stewardship for reporting and analysis capabilities.

Essential Experience

  • Detailed working knowledge of business intelligence platforms or tools (Qliksense, PowerBI, Tableau).
  • The ability to design and implement effective database models that are optimised for reporting and analysis.
  • A strong background in data engineering, with a thorough understanding of concepts like ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data cleaning, data structures, and data warehousing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Azure platform, including knowledge about its architecture, services, and security measures.
  • Azure Data Services experience.
  • SQL Database experience.
