System Administrator – Remote (EU) | Contract/B2B | IoT & Cybersecurity

Location: Fully Remote (EU-based)
Contract Type: Freelance/B2B (1-month initial, extendable up to 6+ months)
Salary: €40-€60 per hour (Negotiable)

About the Role

A global IoT and cybersecurity company in the Netherlands is expanding its engineering team and is looking for a remote System Administrator on a freelance/B2B basis. This is an initial one-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension—most contractors placed with this client last year have been extended beyond a year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain engineering lab equipment, hypervisors, and bare metal servers
  • Manage and optimize virtualization technologies, including ProxMox, KVM, and VMware
  • Implement automation solutions using Ansible and other tools
  • Ensure smooth operation of lab networks, supporting infrastructure needs
  • Work collaboratively with remote teams to enhance system performance

Key Requirements

  • Strong automation-first mindset with expertise in Ansible
  • Experience managing virtualization technologies (ProxMox, KVM, VMware)
  • Advanced proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL)
  • Solid networking background and troubleshooting experience
  • EU-based with the ability to travel to the Netherlands for onboarding (preferred but not required)
