They’re now hiring a Staff Backend Engineer to lead backend efforts for their portfolio reporting function—covering complex features like statements, billing, and performance tracking. This is a hands-on leadership role with technical depth and product influence at scale.

The Role

As Staff Engineer, you’ll own and evolve the architecture behind portfolio reporting systems—developing robust backend services, scaling distributed pipelines, and integrating new data sources. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver seamless experiences to advisors and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead backend development for the portfolio reporting team

  • Build and maintain scalable microservices and data pipelines

  • Own key ELT processes and ensure reporting accuracy

  • Integrate new custodians, data feeds, and investment types

  • Drive technical decisions and mentor engineers across the team

  • Partner closely with product and design to shape roadmap priorities

Key Requirements

  • 8+ years’ backend experience (Java/Spring Boot preferred)

  • Expertise in distributed systems and large-scale data processing

  • Experience working on investment platforms or portfolio reporting tools

  • Familiarity with AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • A strong sense of ownership and focus on reliability

Why Join

  • High-impact role at a rapidly scaling, mission-driven fintech

  • Competitive compensation, equity, and generous benefits

  • Hybrid working in top-tier offices (SF or LA)

  • Wellness budget, L&D support, and collaborative team culture

If you’re looking to build resilient systems with real-world impact—and help modernise wealth management from the inside out—this one’s for you.
