About the Head of Crypto Custody Operations Vacancy:
This individual will be involved in process development and documentation including key ceremonies, operational playbooks, responses for various compliance, and certification processes (ie: ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 1/2, SOX, etc).
Position Responsibilities:
- Own Custody operations during European business hours. Ensure smooth operations of the business whilst ensuring strict adherence to asset security, regulatory compliance, risk management and information security frameworks.
- Work seamlessly with external counterparties and internal teams to solve issues relating to Custody operations.
- Continuously analyse and evaluate existing processes to propose improvements to boost operational efficiency.
- Work with Custody operations peers and product, Development and Security teams to build and refine the strategy for the future of the Custody platform.
- As the Business expands, build a team of Custody Operations Specialists in line with the goals, values and principles of Bullish.
- Monitor and optimise asset movements and related processes, and coordinate between teams and stakeholders to resolve any issues in an efficient and expedient manner.
- Develop and maintain a deep working knowledge of our competitors’ offerings and the challenges and opportunities within the fast-moving landscape of the digital assets industry.
Ideal Requirements for the Head of Crypto Custody Operations Vacancy:
- Several years managing an operations team in a successful, high-pressure and fast-paced environment.
- A couple of years in cybersecurity, consultancy, software engineering, or computer science with a focus on security, finance, and/or blockchain.
- A strong belief that the security of Custodial assets comes first, and a willingness to say NO if you feel that is being compromised.
- Solid understanding of the digital asset industry, and the role of a custodian.
- The flexibility to work as part of local and global teams, and with colleagues located across different time zones, jurisdictions and cultures.
- Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, APIs and Tools including public key cryptography or hardware cryptographic devices (tokens, HSMs, etc).
- Be a self-starter with strong business acumen.
- Ability to work independently and with application development, quality assurance, DevOps, and security teams
- Knowledge of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology and concepts
- Experience managing vendor relationships
- Basic knowledge of Bash scripting, Python and NodeJS languages
- Excellent communication skills in German and English
- No criminal conviction and must not be insolvent.
Optional but Desirable Competencies:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Cyber Security etc.) is highly desirable.
- Experience in banking, healthcare, or other regulated environments and/or certification and compliance standards including SOC 2, ISO 27001 or FINRA.
- Hands-on experience with blockchain technology including Bitcoin, Ethereum, EOSIO, and others including building and conducting transactions, smart contracts, and multi-party transactions.
- Experience with Ansible, Docker, Rest APIs, Linux, Terraform, Buildkite, PKCS#11
- Development experience in Python or Java
- Experience working with Bitgo or Fireblocks Custody solutions.
- Experience with creating and managing MultiSig and MPC TSS wallets across multiple networks.
