C#/.NET Software Engineer

This Asset Management firm which serves as one of NYC’s leading financial services powerhouses is currently seeking a C#/.NET Software Engineer to support the hands-on development and design and modelling of new and exciting products on the portfolio management platform.

About the C#/.NET Software Engineer Vacancy:

Working with the non-tech side of the division, adjacent to the trading team, you will be heavily involved in the hands-on development and design and modelling of new and exciting products on the portfolio management platform.

This is a Greenfield development opportunity to support multi-asset portfolio management, asset allocation, portfolio forecast modelling, trading, performance analytics, exposure and liquidity modelling, risk modelling and reporting.

The current technology platform runs on .NET framework 4.8/C# 7.3, Python, MS SQL Server, Web API, AngularJS, RabbitMQ, PowerBI, Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team in designing and modelling new and exciting products on the portfolio management platform
  • Be exposed to quantitative coding: write performant code for simulating a variety of asset classes. Financial modelling will be implemented for portfolio forecasting, as-if scenario analysis, liquidity and exposure modelling, as well as risk analysis and stress test
  • Database design and implementation for financial data processing
  • Technical liaison supporting investment professionals, portfolio strategists and traders
  • One team spirit: collaborate with and learn from colleagues

Ideal Requirements for the C#/.NET Developer Vacancy:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Financial Engineering
  • Some years of professional development experience ideally in technology, the financial industry and asset management
  • Knowledge of C#/.NET framework, and Python
  • Ideally C# production experience
  • Understanding of programming best practices (SRP, DI, Decoupling, TDD, BDD)
  • Passionate about the latest technologies, self-driven to constantly improve and grow
  • Experience building modern Web/Desktop applications
  • Working knowledge of SQL on any relational database server, such as an SQL server
  • Interested in database design with a passion for building high-performing portfolio management system
  • Experience with modern reporting platforms, such as PowerBI is a plus
  • Passion and interest in learning Private Equity, Hedge Funds and Real Assets products
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and logically in both technical and non-technical settings
  • Test-driven developer who pursues the highest software quality possible
  • Self-driven and quick learner
  • Willingness to work 4 days a week on-site in Central NYC
