Customer Onboarding Manager

Frankfurt, Germany

Role Overview:

The Manager, Customer Onboarding is responsible for implementing the company’s Customer Due Diligence (CDD) process. This role involves reviewing potential customers (both corporate and individual) for suitability and eligibility, making onboarding recommendations based on a risk-based approach, and ensuring high compliance and service standards across all entities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct CDD on German corporate and individual customers, including enhanced due diligence (EDD) and periodic reviews.
  • Make onboarding recommendations to senior management regarding potential customers.
  • Understand and apply local and global regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure proper assessment of potential customers for integrity, financial crime, sanctions, and terrorism-related risks.
  • Support the Global team with CDD-related tasks as needed.
  • Create and manage customer accounts.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of directly related experience in a corporate onboarding role with substantial knowledge of relevant rules and regulations and day-to-day KYC onboarding compliance affairs.
  • Good knowledge of provisions of crypto/fiat licensed entities’ local laws, directives, regulations, and applicable standards.
  • Strong market knowledge of leading-edge KYC solutions and market practices.
  • Competent in coordinating, organizing, and relationship building; excellent time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with fluent written and spoken English and German (C level). Additional language skills are a plus but not essential.

Preferred Skills:

  • Highly preferred for candidates to possess ACAMS / CAMS / CCAS / ICA certifications or similar.
  • Professional experience at a digital assets company is a major plus.
  • Good knowledge of upcoming regulations of virtual currency policies is a strong plus.
