This role offers a competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and comprehensive medical and dental insurance. With a hybrid work model, you’ll enjoy flexibility while contributing to an exciting, high-impact environment in the investment management sector. Your work will be highly visible to business stakeholders, making this a unique opportunity to showcase your skills and drive value.

Role Overview:

As a Rapid Application Developer, you will play a critical role within the front office RAD technology team, building and maintaining trading desk tools. These tools will vary from bespoke solutions for specific desks to more general applications for wider use. You will work closely with traders to deliver on their diverse RAD tool needs, from simple risk reports to complex trading workflow and risk management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with traders to gather requirements and develop RAD solutions.
  • Prioritize time-to-market, practicality, and code reusability in your development process.
  • Build Excel front ends powered by C# libraries, MongoDB, and SQL Server databases.
  • Manage a balance between rapid changes for business-as-usual (BAU) tasks and long-term strategic development projects.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Finance and Technology, ideally within front office development.
  • Strong proficiency in C#, Excel, VBA, and SQL.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial instruments such as Fixed Income and Derivatives.
  • Experience with Python and broader financial products (FX, Commodities, Equity) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and building reusable code libraries within a quant framework.
  • Self-starter with the ability to engage directly with senior business users on trading and risk desks.
  • Ability to gather requirements, design practical solutions, and implement them from start to finish.
  • Commitment to best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Who Should Apply:

This role is ideal for someone with front office experience who is looking to deepen their exposure to cross-asset products and deliver high-impact, visible solutions in a fast-paced environment.

At Orbis Group, we are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace. Research indicates that candidates, especially from underrepresented backgrounds, often hesitate to apply for jobs if they don't meet every qualification.
