Senior Backend Engineer (Java)

📍 New York City | 5 Days Onsite

💰 $170K-$300K Base + Equity + Bonus

I’m working with one of NYC’s fastest-growing fintech companies, building products across payments, rewards, loyalty, credit and commerce for millions of users. They’re growing their backend engineering team and hiring across multiple levels, from experienced Software Engineers through to Staff Engineers.

This is a high-ownership environment where engineers are trusted to make decisions, move quickly and build products that directly impact the business.

What you’ll be working on:

• Designing and building scalable backend services

• Developing distributed systems and microservices that support millions of transactions and interactions

• Improving cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring and deployment pipelines

• Solving complex engineering challenges around scale, reliability and performance

• Working closely with product and engineering leadership on business-critical initiatives

What they’re looking for:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience

• Strong Java development experience

• Experience building scalable backend systems

• Cloud experience with GCP, AWS or Azure

• Engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy taking ownership
