Senior Software Engineer (Backend / Product-Focused)

London (hybrid)

£80k–£95k + bonus + equity

We’re working with a fast-growing consumer platform scaling both its product and engineering team.

This is a backend-leaning, product-focused role where engineers own features end-to-end,from idea through to production. You’ll be building systems that directly impact users, with a strong focus on data, performance, and personalisation.

The environment suits engineers who like 0→1 problem solving, moving quickly, and having real ownership over what gets built.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building and scaling backend services that power core product features
• Owning work end-to-end (API design, data modelling, and some frontend where needed)
• Working closely with product/design to shape solutions
• Improving performance, scalability, and reliability across the platform
• Using AI tools (Copilot, LLMs, etc.) as part of day-to-day engineering, and contributing to how AI is increasingly embedded in the product

Tech (flexible):

• Node.js or Python
• React + TypeScript
• Postgres / data-heavy systems
• Cloud + Docker

• Strong backend engineer with product instincts
• Experience building and shipping features end-to-end
• Comfortable working across the stack when needed
• Background in fast-moving product environments
• Someone who takes ownership and is comfortable with ambiguity
