Senior Product Designer – Enterprise AI Platform

Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid)

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 base + bonus + equity + benefits

About the Company

This is an enterprise platform used to design, deploy, and govern AI systems in regulated industries. Trusted by the likes of AMD, Moderna, AWS, and Nvidia, the platform is relied on to provide transparency, accuracy, and control of models.

The company has raised over $240M in funding and is valued at over $1B.

The platform enables organizations to build, validate, and operate AI models across cloud, on-prem, and edge environments. Through a suite of tools and controls, teams can manage model behavior, permissions, workflows, and oversight across the full AI lifecycle.

What Sets This Role Apart

  • True platform ownership: You will own large product surfaces end-to-end, not just features, across a complex enterprise AI system.
  • Systems-level design challenges: Work on RBAC, agent workflows, model training and evaluation experiences, and admin controls.
  • Technical depth: Designing for AI engineers, ML practitioners, and enterprise operators using advanced AI tooling will massively improve your knowledge in the space.
  • High impact: Your work will directly shape how organisations trust, control, and operationalise AI in sensitive environments.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer, you will own the end-to-end design of major areas of the platform, shaping how enterprises build, deploy, and govern AI at scale. You will work at the intersection of product strategy, engineering execution, and complex technical workflows.

You will partner closely with Product Managers, engineers, and ML teams to translate deeply technical capabilities into intuitive, scalable enterprise experiences. This role requires strong systems thinking, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to design high-fidelity solutions for complex, role-based, multi-step workflows.

This is a high-ownership role with direct influence over UX, UI, and the evolution of the design system for a technically sophisticated AI platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design for major product areas, from discovery and concept through high-fidelity design, delivery, and iteration
  • Translate complex AI and platform workflows into clear, scalable enterprise experiences across web applications and system interfaces
  • Lead discovery with technical and non-technical users, synthesising insights into product strategy, interaction models, and UX direction
  • Define system-level information architecture, interaction patterns, and reusable UX frameworks for multi-step enterprise workflows
  • Produce high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and detailed specifications that enable high-quality engineering implementation
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape roadmap tradeoffs, requirements, and technical constraints
  • Drive design quality through implementation reviews, design QA, and close collaboration with front-end engineers
  • Contribute to and evolve the design system to support new platform capabilities and enterprise use cases
  • Mentor and review the work of other designers, raising craft quality and design standards across the team
  • Clearly communicate design strategy, rationale, and tradeoffs to product leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

Design Skills & Required Expertise

  • 6–10+ years designing complex SaaS, platform, or enterprise products
  • Proven ownership of large product areas from discovery through launch and iteration
  • Strong systems-level design skills across workflows, permissions, information architecture, and interaction patterns
  • Experience designing role-based, admin, or configuration-heavy enterprise products
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and experience contributing to or evolving a design system
  • Ability to produce high-fidelity designs and clear specs, and partner closely with engineering through implementation
  • Strong communication skills and comfort articulating design decisions and tradeoffs
  • Experience leading discovery, synthesizing insights, and influencing product direction in ambiguous environments
  • Experience designing for technical users (AI/ML engineers, developers, data scientists)

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, MLOps, or model workflows
  • Experience with data-heavy interfaces, analytics, or monitoring tools
  • Background in high-growth startups or early-stage platforms
  • Mentorship or informal design leadership experience
