About the Role

Orbis is partnering with one of the largest global banking organizations in the Netherlands, seeking a Senior Java Developer to join their Smart Payments Processing division on a freelance basis. This role is ideal for a highly experienced Java Developer with a strong background in payments processing and cloud-based architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based backend systems for payments processing.
• Design and implement REST APIs and scalable microservices solutions.
• Work with Azure cloud technologies, ensuring robust and secure deployments.
• Utilize Docker and containerization to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize payments infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with banking and financial regulations.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Java Developer, specializing in payments processing.
• Strong backend development skills: Java, SQL, REST APIs, design patterns.
• Experience with cloud principles, specifically Azure.
• Proficiency in Docker and microservices architecture.
• Payments Service Provider (PSP) experience is essential.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model, with onsite presence in Utrecht 2-3 days per week.
