Senior Data Engineer – Regulatory Reporting

We’re hiring a Senior Data Engineer to help build a greenfield regulatory reporting platform supporting global expansion. This is a senior individual contributor role with high ownership, focused on designing and delivering scalable, compliant data systems in a complex regulatory environment.

The Opportunity

You’ll be a foundational hire within Regulatory Reporting, responsible for building core data models, pipelines, and submission workflows from the ground up. This role suits a systems-builder who enjoys working on platform-level problems and shaping long-term data architecture.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building a scalable regulatory reporting platform from scratch
• Owning data models, ingestion pipelines, and downstream delivery patterns
• Implementing both batch and streaming ingestion using Kafka and related technologies
• Supporting multiple regulator-specific submission methods (APIs, templates, file-based reporting)
• Building robust data quality, validation, and governance frameworks
• Working closely with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability
• Contributing to architectural decisions as the platform scales internationally

Core Technology Stack

• Cloud data warehouse: Snowflake (preferred); Redshift, BigQuery, or Synapse also considered
• Orchestration: Airflow or equivalent
• Streaming / event-driven: Kafka (Flink or Spark Streaming experience a plus)
• Languages: Python preferred (Java or Scala acceptable)
• Cloud: AWS

What We’re Looking For

• Strong senior-level experience in data engineering and platform buildouts
• Proven experience designing data models and pipelines in cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with streaming and event-driven architectures
• Solid understanding of data quality, validation, and governance
• Comfortable working in regulated or high-compliance domains
• A proactive, ownership-driven engineer who enjoys greenfield work
