I’m working with a fast-growing real-money gaming platform used by 1M+ users across North America. Their product combines sportsbook, fantasy picks and interactive gaming into a single consumer platform. They’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Integrations team.

This team owns the systems that ingest and process live sports data powering the core product. The role is heavily backend-focused and involves building the services that keep events, markets, and features updated in real time.

You’ll be joining a small team responsible for the infrastructure that connects external data providers to the core platform.

What you’ll be doing

• Building backend services that integrate with external sports data providers

• Designing systems that ingest and process high-volume real-time event data

• Developing backend services using Java or Kotlin

• Improving reliability, monitoring, and performance across distributed systems

• Working closely with product and engineering teams to ship new platform capabilities

Tech stack

• Java / Kotlin

• Event-driven backend systems

• SQL databases

• AWS / cloud infrastructure

• Docker / containerised services

What they’re looking for

• 5+ years backend engineering experience

• Strong experience with Java or Kotlin

• Experience building distributed backend systems

• Comfortable integrating external APIs and data feeds

• Strong production mindset around reliability and system performance

Compensation

• up to ~$150,000 CAD base
