Python Engineer – Financial Data Platforms – Outside IR35 – Contract

We’re looking for a Python Engineer to join a high-profile project focused on backend systems that automate complex financial and actuarial workflows. This is a hands-on role delivering backend solutions under tight deadlines in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain Python backend services using modern frameworks and CI/CD practices
  • Design distributed systems to handle high-volume financial and actuarial data
  • Develop event-driven pipelines using Pub/Sub and message queues
  • Implement cloud-native solutions on GCP with Docker and dbt
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to turn requirements into scalable technical designs

Required Skills:

  • Background working in asset management, insurance, or investment banking
  • 4+ years production Python experience (FastAPI, Flask, or similar)
  • Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub or message queues)
  • GCP and Docker experience
  • Experience with dbt and BigQuery (or similar cloud data warehouses)

Rate: DOE, Outside IR35

Location: Fully remote, (Must be UK-based)

Duration: 6-month rolling contract (with potential extensions)
