Low-Latency Software Engineer (Real-Time Crypto Infrastructure)

REMOTE

We’re working with a crypto firm building real-time, low-latency systems where microseconds matter. This software sits directly on the transaction path and makes in-flight decisions around fund movement and execution under extreme performance constraints.

This is not blockchain protocol work or smart contracts. It’s backend infrastructure that feels closer to high-performance trading or payments systems.

What you’ll do

  • Build and optimise ultra-low-latency, real-time backend systems
  • Tune for microseconds, jitter, and deterministic performance
  • Work deep in concurrency, threading, memory, and runtime behaviour
  • Own critical-path code where performance has real financial impact

What they’re looking for:

  • Rust, Java, C++ or similar in performance-critical systems
  • Experience working on low-latency or performance-critical backend systems
  • Strong understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and lock-free or low-lock design
  • Proven focus on latency optimisation rather than just throughput
  • Comfortable working close to the runtime, including memory management and performance tuning
  • An engineering mindset that obsesses over why something takes 5µs instead of 3µs

Apply if you’re interested in crypto infrastructure built with a trad-fi performance mindset, real systems, real constraints, real impact.

At Orbis Group, we are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace. Research indicates that candidates, especially from underrepresented backgrounds, often hesitate to apply for jobs if they don't meet every qualification.

If you're excited about a role but don't perfectly align with every requirement, we encourage you to apply. Your unique skills and experiences may be the perfect fit for the job or other opportunities that arise.
