Lead Python Engineer – Integrations & AI

📍 New York City (Hybrid)

💰 Base salary up to $225k + meaningful equity

Build the integration layer powering next-generation AI for professional services.

Our client is a productivity/search/AI platform that sits on top of the daily workflow tools used by professional services firms — Microsoft 365, Slack, browsers, storage systems and more — and brings everything into one AI-powered dashboard.

We ingest, structure, vectorise and organise content so it can be used with LLMs for Q&A, summarisation, auto-categorisation and intelligent research workflows.

We’re now hiring a Lead Python Engineer (Generalist) to own and scale our integrations platform as we enter our next phase of growth.

Why This Role Is Exciting

  • 🚀 Early-stage product with strong traction and real-world usage
  • 🎙 Recently referenced on Invest Like the Best
  • High visibility across finance and technology networks
  • Real ownership, equity, and technical influence
  • Build AI-native infrastructure from the ground up

This is not a narrow API-maintenance role. We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader who can architect, build, and evolve a scalable integrations ecosystem.

The Role

As our Lead Python Engineer, you will:

  • Architect and build integrations with third-party platforms (Microsoft Graph, Slack, browsers, etc.)
  • Design robust ingestion pipelines to process and structure high-volume data
  • Work closely with our AI team to push structured data into LLM-driven pipelines
  • Help shape database schemas and content organisation strategy
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to design intuitive integration configuration flows
  • Set engineering standards and mentor other engineers as we grow

This is still a highly hands-on role — you’ll be writing production code daily — but you’ll also influence technical direction and integration strategy across the company.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years software engineering experience – ideally with Python
  • Experience building production API integrations
  • Exposure to LLM workflows (classification, summarisation, embeddings, etc.) – A nice to have!
  • Strong systems thinking — data modelling, pipelines, scaling considerations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment

We’re looking for a strong Python generalist — someone who can move between APIs, data pipelines, AI workflows, databases, and infrastructure without being narrowly specialised in just one area.

Compensation

  • Base salary up to $225k
  • Meaningful early-stage equity
  • Direct influence over product and architecture
  • Opportunity to grow into broader technical leadership

You’ll be joining at a pivotal inflection point — where product-market fit is emerging and engineering decisions will directly shape scale.

If you’re a strong backend engineer who wants:

  • Real ownership
  • Real equity
  • Real product impact
  • And real AI application in production

This is worth a conversation.
