Lead Golang Engineer – Crypto Media & Data Firm

Location: London (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £140,000 Base + Bonus

About the Role

A leading crypto media and data firm in London is seeking a Lead Golang Engineer to head a small team within the Order Book Integrations product. This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and high-throughput systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of three engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Design and implement high-performance, scalable data services that can handle large transaction volumes.
  • Bridge the gap between business and technology, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Make key architectural decisions, balancing maintainability, performance, and reliability.
  • Hands-on development with Go (Golang), writing clean, efficient, and scalable code.

Key Requirements

  • Strong leadership experience, with a background in managing engineering teams.
  • Proven experience in designing high-throughput, reliable systems that scale effectively.
  • Expertise in Golang, with a track record of writing maintainable and efficient code.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to align technical and business objectives.
  • Crypto experience is not essential, but exposure to financial services or highly regulated industries is beneficial.
