Founding Infrastructure/Data Engineer

A venture-backed startup at the intersection of AI and national security is building the next generation of secure data sharing technology – and they’re looking for a Data focused Infrastructure Engineer to join the founding team.

This is an opportunity to work on systems where speed, scale, and security are mission critical. You’ll design and deploy infrastructure that supports ML-powered applications, ensuring sensitive data can move seamlessly and securely across highly complex environments.

The role

  • Build and maintain the data pipelines and infrastructure that power ML applications
  • Deploy and manage models at scale, from training through production
  • Design APIs and services that integrate smoothly into mission-critical workflows
  • Ensure data is handled and secured properly across large, distributed environments
  • Collaborate closely with a small, fast-moving team to solve hard technical problems in real-world settings

What they’re looking for

  • Strong engineering expeirence in Python, Go, or C
  • Experience building and scaling production data systems
  • Hands-on expertise with model deployment and ML Ops practices
  • Knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and operations
  • Someone who thrives in early-stage, fast-paced environments and enjoys tackling complex challenges

Nice to have

  • Experience in defense, intelligence, or government systems
  • Background in enterprise-scale search or ML-powered infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS
  • Skills in encryption, authentication, DevOps, or SRE practices
