Head of North American Trading Operations | Location: Toronto (Hybrid)

Are you a seasoned leader in trading operations with a deep understanding of financial markets, derivatives, and regulatory frameworks? Our client looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head of North American Trading Operations to lead our regional operations, drive efficiency, and ensure excellence across trade execution and client engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Oversee all North American trading operations, including trade confirmation, payment facilitation, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting
  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation
  • Establish and maintain trading infrastructure (ISDAs, trading lines) with leading investment banks and counterparties
  • Execute a wide range of derivative trades (FX, interest rate, commodity) on behalf of clients, ensuring best execution standards
  • Develop and implement processes to optimize operational performance, risk control, and client experience
  • Collaborate with risk, compliance, and front office teams to ensure seamless, end-to-end trade lifecycle management
  • Stay current with market trends and evolving regulations to assess and improve operational strategies
  • Manage key relationships with banks, brokers, vendors, and clients to drive mutual value
  • Support onboarding efforts for counterparties and funds, including regulatory reporting (e.g., LEI renewals, ATE testing) and fund finance operations
  • Use your technology and data analysis skills to streamline reporting, automate processes, and improve efficiency within the Global Capital Markets (GCM) function
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making at a leadership level, helping shape the future of the business

What You’ll Bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in trading operations within financial services or capital markets
  • Strong expertise in derivatives, trade lifecycle, risk management, and post-trade processes
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices (North American and global markets)
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills with a track record of building high-performing teams
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, client-facing environments with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience managing banking relationships and delivering high-quality client service
  • Proficiency in data tools and systems used to automate reports and streamline operations
  • Industry certifications such as CFA or FRM are an asset
