Front Office Software Engineer – Python (Pandas) – up to £180,000 base

Orbis are proudly working with a global Commodities Trading firm who are redefining how data and technology shape the future of their market. They are looking for a Front Office Python Software Engineer with Excellent Pandas experience to be at the forefront of this evolution.

As a Front Office Python Software Engineer, this is an incredible opportunity to work side-by-side with Traders, building high-performance systems and innovative tools that enable them to understand markets, forecast movements, and act with confidence.

What You Build:

• Partner directly with traders to design, build, and own production Python systems.
• Designing and developing solutions to analyse market data, manage trading positions, and support the models that drive front-office decision-making
• Facilitating real-time alerting, market data ingestion, and analytical platforms that drive trading decisions.

What You Bring:

• Extensive experience of Software Engineering using Python to a high standard, as well as using Pandas
• Experience working within the Front Office of an Investment Banking, Trading or Investment Management firm, working directly with and taking requirements from with front-office stakeholders (e.g. Traders, Portfolio Managers)
• Strong experience with Containerisation technologies (e.g. Kubernetes or Docker)
• (ideally) experience with AWS and Snowflake or similar
• (ideally) familiarity with visualisation tools such as Streamlit/PowerBI
