Back End Developer

Job Title: Backend API Engineering Lead

Location: Málaga/Hybrid – 3-4 days/week onsite

Contract Type: 6‑month initial contract + extenisons

Hourly Rate: circa 400 EUR/day (flexible)

Start Date: Late Feb/Early March

Orbis have partnered with a global banking client who are building a next‑generation BaaS (Banking‑as‑a‑Service) platform designed to power secure, compliant, and AI‑augmented financial services across Payments, Collections, and Cash Management domains.

They are seeking an experienced Backend Integration Developer/API Lead with deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot), Python (FastAPI), API security, and event‑driven microservices to own the design and delivery of domain‑critical backend services within a cloud‑native, enterprise‑grade environment.

Key Tech:

• Backend & APIs: Java/SpringBoot, REST API design with OpenAPI 3.1 and event flows using AsyncAPI
• Event Driven Architecture: Apache Kafka & Kafka Streams
• Cloud Infra & DevOps: Docker & Kubernetes (AKS primary; GKE supported)
• Observability: Any of Datadog, Dynatrace Davis, Prometheus, ELK

Nice to have: PostgreSQL, Redis, Vector databases (Pinecone or Redis Vector), RAG pipelines and LLMOps (prompt versioning, audit trails, hallucination testing)
