Orbis are proudly supporting a London-based Hedge Fund with the build of a new Applied AI team to transform their business and investment operations. The firm have a rich history of pioneering technology in Finance and are looking to hire a team of AI Software Engineers with excellent Python and GenAI experience to take them on this incredible journey.

As a Software Engineer experienced in modern AI technology, this is a completely unique opportunity for you to join a team at the very Frontier of AI in Finance, and to apply your AI/ML and Python experience to cutting edge business and investment challenges with one of the top firms in the industry.

Your key responsibilities in this role will be:

• Designing and Building the Core proprietary ML and AI technology platform using Python
• Partnering directly with stakeholders across the Front Office, Research and Technology to design and deploy unique AI solutions
• Alongside a like-minded team of AI enthusiasts, keeping on top of the latest AI trends and developments in order to identify, suggest and implement cutting edge AI solutions

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• 5+ years’ Software Engineering experience in Python
• Proven experience of owning or significantly contributing to complex end-to-end Software projects such as platform builds or similar.
• Excellent experience working on GenAI commercially, including for building knowledge processing, agentic AI or automated coding tooling
• A strong understanding of large language models (LLMs) — from fine-tuning to deploying real-world AI applications.
• A deep interest and strong understanding of applied mathematics and financial instruments and markets
