Head of Cyber Security

London | C. £250k base + strong bonus

We’re partnering with a global hedge fund to appoint a Head of Cyber Security to lead and evolve its security function.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the unique cyber security challenges of a trading environment, from protecting proprietary trading systems and intellectual property to securing modern engineering platforms and AI-enabled technologies.

You’ll work directly with senior leadership while remaining close to engineering, shaping security strategy and driving technical delivery across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the cyber security function.
  • Defining and executing the firm’s cyber security strategy.
  • Partnering with engineering to embed security into software development and infrastructure.
  • Driving AI security and governance across the organisation.
  • Protecting trading systems, sensitive market data and intellectual property.
  • Leading incident response, threat management and security engineering initiatives.
  • Managing and mentoring a small team of security professionals.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading cyber security within a trading firm, investment bank, hedge fund, market maker or electronic trading environment.
  • Strong hands-on background across security engineering, cloud security and application security.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams in fast-paced, technology-driven organisations.
  • Good understanding of AI security, secure software development and modern cloud environments.
  • Comfortable operating at both executive and technical levels.
