React Mobile Engineer

One of Orbis’ telco clients are on the lookout for a Senior React Engineer with Expo and Mobile experience.

Our client are set to launch in the UK later this year and roll out globally next year so now is a great chance to join them and set the foundations of their business in this early stage.

As the client are in start up phase and rapidly approaching their planned go-live date you’ll be a crucial member of the development team working on tasks such as;

• Creating mobile features for our platform
• Help to create and maintain Back End services in Node.js
• Feed into the CI/CD pipeline and automated testing capabilities
• Actively helping with the solution design process

Skills needed

• Someone with a solid full-stack engineering track record, of at least five years, with a strong focus on mobile development in React, using Expo (this is a must). You should unashamedly consider yourself an expert in building mobile applications.
• Experience building against a variety of external SaaS tools for authentication, payment gateways, etc using third-party SDKs etc with all the challenges that brings.
• Hands-on Back End engineering experience, building and supporting microservices in Node.js, using serverless technologies. Experience/knowledge of Kubernetes would be a plus but not essential.
• A good understanding of event-driven design patterns
• Hands-on experience of configuring AWS tools and services, with preferably exposure to IaC technologies
• A strong focus on automated testing techniques, with experience of building into deployment pipelines
• Experience of working in an ambiguous and fast moving environment, with the ability to collaborate efficiently and communicate change clearly.
• Someone who actively seeks out and acts on feedback from their customers and colleagues.
• The ability to scale between setting the strategy and hands on delivery.
• A problem solving and solutions focused mindset.
• A confident decision maker who uses data to drive and influence.
